Jacob O. J. Agoch

BOARD CHAIRMAN – GAPLINK INTERNATIONAL

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, in Finance Option. He is a Certified Public Accountant from Strathmore University and has a diploma in project management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). Jacob has immense experience and knowledge of financial management and a practical understanding of Project Cycle Management (PCM) as well as private sector engagement ranging from manufacturing to financial inclusion. Jacob has worked for various international organizations and developed a deep interest in climate finance and investment fund management having participated in designing sustainable financial instruments. Jacob has in-depth experience in agribusiness financing, value chain, and market systems development and management. He also has experience in enterprise development, business planning, market analysis, financial & strategic planning, and management, corporate management, and business policy development, financial management & accounting, contract & grant management. In addition, he has experience in private sector engagement in climate actions.

Tom Mboya Ochieng

BOARD SECRETARY & C.E.O  – GAPLINK INTERNATIONAL

As a humanitarian expert (policy formulator, researcher / project planning & management – experience on project fundraising, planning, design and implementation) Mr. Mboya has been engaged in facilitations at local / high levels including having served as a co-chair for Nakuru County Disaster Committee. As a volunteer for several years, he has also served in the Boards’ of Operation Smile, Child Welfare Society of Kenya, Persons with Disabilities and Nakuru GK Women Prisons.

A member of the Civil Society (CSO’s) reference group that amongst others organizes and host Governor’s round table with CSO in Nakuru County and has countless accolades for organizing successful Communities Free Medical Camps (CFMC).

 

He took center- stage in initiating and building networks in both public and private sectors. Initially was a programme manager for Childcare Worldwide, in realization of organizational goals and objectives.  Prior to these, He has served in various fields bringing in a wealth of experience gathered within the East African region and beyond. He has had affiliations with Mercy-Corps, KNCHR / UNCHR, IEBC, Action Aid, Pro-Mara, Uwezo Kenya, (WERK), MsTDC in Arusha, University of Gothenburg – Sweden, University of Peace – Costa Rica as a researcher, and US Embassy as a political analyst amongst other engagements.

In all his endeavors in areas of work and volunteer-ship; he has been ever in an interactive field where, local / international personalities of various (academia, political, socio-economic, gender, entrepreneurs, administrative backgrounds). Mr. Mboya has also served as a tutor; done lots of public lectures.

Having been a core member of Protection Working Group (PWG) which brought public, private and CSOs sectors in the Central Rift Valley Province and played critical roles in brokering of the peace agreements between the protagonist communities and safeguarding minorities communities after 2007/2008 PEV. Mr. Mboya also championed the formation of various specific cluster groups (referred to as sectors). As then the out-going chairperson of Operation Smile, Mr. Mboya facilitated main IDP camps with makeshift health care facilities in the larger Rift Valley. Also participated on Participatory Assessment Exercise on IDPs, having trained by KNCHR, Action Aid and G.I.Z. on Documentation & Monitoring of Gross Human Rights Violations. He has served in many entities / boards, is a mentor and a TOT. Mboya has been engaged in research & implementation of Agric. components. He has served as a Trade Judge for Agricultural Show of Kenya (ASK) and served in their management committees for several years.

Trained by Mediation Training Institute International (MTI) East Africa, He is a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM on ADR); Mr. Mboya is best suited for Regional Integration and Trade and would extend as an asset on Human Rights, Democracy & Good Governance.

 

Education: Mr. Mboya is a product of Bodi Primary School, Miwani Boys High School, University of Nairobi (UoN), Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), ALTIS, Catholic University of Milan (Italy) & Tangaza University College MBA GBS –Social Entrepreneurship. Weldon University MS General Leadership

EILEEN WAKESHO

BOARD MEMBER

Eileen is a researcher and an expert in project planning and management with about 7 years experience on project fundraising, planning, design and implementation. Her strongest conviction is that realization of land and property rights for women and communities is possible. Eileen has worked closely with traditional council of elders in Kenya as Alternative Dispute resolution platforms and in efforts to develop champions for women land rights in Kenya. Her research work cuts across women, land, governance and accountability. Eileen is a member of the young professionals at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy, Research and Analysis where her work focuses on land and Constitution, devolution and corporate governance. She has co-authored a peer reviewed book on informal justice mechanisms and formal courts in Kenya, Land and Conflicts among others. She holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Project Planning and Management from The University of Nairobi and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in addition to certified course on Monitoring and evaluation, financial sustainability and transitional justice.

Samuel Gatukui Karithi

BOARD MEMBER

An accountant by profession and an accomplished businessman. Gatukui is a product of University of Nairobi (UoN) – Faculty of Commerce – Accounting (Option), Egerton University – Faculty of Commerce – Accounting, Tracom College – Accounts Course.
Work experience with but not limited to Kenya Power and lighting Company (KPLC); Gatukui has also worked for Mololine and rising through the ranks to be the Director in-charge of Operations.
Integrity has been his charm in Community exposure having also served with Youth for Christ (YFC) and Young Christian Professionals (YCP). He has mobilized resources at times of emergencies with passion and dedication. Gatukui has served in various levels of committees amongst them having also served as the Lay-Leader for Africa Gospel Church (AGC) – Lakeview, Nakuru.

Sakwa Diana Achieng’ (Mrs).

BOARD TREASURER – GAPLINK INTERNATIONAL

Diana is an all-rounder team player in Community Service with a background in psychosocial entrepreneurship from Huruma Counselling Center (Nairobi). Armed with Business Administration educational portfolio and a minor in Human Resource development; Diana has over the years practiced in Public Service arena. She is also a product of Kenya Polytechnic, Computer School of Administration, Multiface Computer College. Her elementary levels are Tamu Primary School and Rae Girls. She has also attended a lot of induction courses in various disciplines
Diana’s passion has been to effectively create value and increase the wealth in the society wherever called upon to serve. A dedicated Community mobilizer, a paralegal and very resourceful. Diana has proved to Gaplink International (GLI) a resounding resilience having been there through-out GLI since the inception of GLI.

Rukkiya Ahmed

BOARD MEMBER – GAPLINK INTERNATIONAL

Rukkiya passion in community engagement started in her tender age and without losing truck of these; she formally joined direct engagements in community led initiatives immediately after completing high school education. She took leadership roles as Youth member in the Kenya Red Cross. She was also a member in the Red Cross Action Team and was actively involved in relief distribution during the infamous 1997-98 Post election violence. She later relocated to Nairobi to pursue a diploma in Architecture in the then Kenya Polytechnic. In 2003, she moved to Oman and worked as a Projects officer in Blue Oasis Building and Construction Company. In 2007 she moved to Uganda and Worked as a Senior Projects Manager for Darr Alkauthar Foundation, a humanitarian organization focused on provision of clean and safe water in remote villages of Easter Uganda. Under her tenure, 29 villages benefited from the project.

Lazarus Kubasu Nolasco,

BOARD MEMBER

Kubasu attended Urbaniana University, Rome, Italy for his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophical Studies. He later joined Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya for his Masters Studies in Political Philosophy and separate graduate studies in Environmental Communication with specialty in Climate Change, Human Security and Violent Conflict. He has worked as Conflict and Social Impact consultant for a number of international organizations including the World Bank, Government of Kenya, IGAD, USAID, DFID among others.

Previously in the Public Service; he was an Administrator in Baringo County since 2007 – 2008 helping to find durable solution to protracted Pokot – Njemps conflict in Marigat and Mukutani divisions. In wake up of the Post-Election Violence, he was transferred to Provincial headquarters, Nakuru to coordinate UNDP/USAID funded Transition and

Stabilization programs in whole of Rift Valley Province. He has also worked as Conflict Management Specialist with USAID/ARD Tetra Tech Company working in the area of land law reform, Mau Forest rehabilitation, Water Resources Management, Youth Empowerment, Energy Alternatives.

In the run up the 2017 elections, Lazarus worked with Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) as Conflict consultant undertaking a critical conflict assessment study / research for the whole country just before the elections. The study was validated by the Kenyan civil society and Government of Kenya and informed election preparation and the country’s security preparedness.

At the moment, Lazarus is currently Senior Social Specialist consultant with World Bank – Government of Kenya’s project Kenya Water Security and Climate Resilience Program, involved with twelve other consultants in the preparation and design of the project. He has also been part of preparation consulting team for World Bank’s South Sudan Link project helping Government of Kenya secure USD$500m to fund Kitale–Kapenguria–Lodwar road. He has also participated in design of World Bank USD$165M Kenya Municipal Program that is also being implemented in Nakuru among 22 other towns.
